One amazing Ansari, whose name was Sa’d ibn al-Rabi’, hosted Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf. Sa’d ibn al-Rabi’ was incredibly generous, showing the true meaning of brotherhood.
He told Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf: “My brother, half of everything I own, my wealth and my home, is yours. I even have two wives; choose one, and I will divorce her for you to marry after her waiting period!” This was an offer of immense kindness and sharing.
Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf thanked him deeply for such incredible kindness and sharing. But with great dignity and modesty, he replied…
“May Allah bless all your wealth, your home, and your family, my brother. Just guide me to the market!” He chose self-reliance and the path of earning his own livelihood.

So, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf went to the market. He started working hard, buying and selling with honesty and integrity, just like a good Muslim merchant should. His dedication was unwavering.
As time passed, Allah blessed his efforts, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf became one of the wealthiest people in all of Medina! His honest hard work and faith brought him immense success.
